Do clients really care if you have worked in their exact industry?

When? Whom to use?

A lot of us here are working for different companies, in different sectors, providing various services.

How well would a recommendation, or an endorsement, will work across industries

For example, I am currently doing work for an agricultural company in Israel, an Electric vehicle manufacturer in China, software company from India and a Medical Device company from Israel.

Today I was talking to potential clients - and each, as always, asked if I have experience with THEIR specific industry...... And my conclusion / lesson is: at the end of the day, people will be working with ME because of who I AM. Not because of the work I did with their competitors in the field.

And so personal recommendations, in my opinion, are not less important than professional ones.
